Seven Ways To Deal With Stress
Stress is a common occurrence in everyone’s life. Perhaps the best way to deal with stress is to recognize that it is in fact a reality of human existence. There are a multitude of reasons for stress in our lives. Sometimes we experience stress because of choices which we make and at other times circumstances beyond our control are the source of stress.
Here are several ways to deal with stress.
Stress put into perspective
Stress can be a very emotive subject. Some people look on in disbelief as employees are given large payouts or weeks off work due to stress, others refuse to acknowledge that stress is worth thinking about and others struggle on, whilst their lives seem to get more difficult to deal with.
Let’s put things into perspective. The human stress response was designed as a self protection mechanism. In primitive times the major problems we had were hunger and attack. If something attacked you you needed to be able to run very quickly or hit it very hard. So, the heart would start pumping faster to get blood out to legs and arms and adrenaline would be released ready for that extra energy that would be needed. The body would produce sweat to cool itself during the expected exertion and the mind would focus completely on the danger.
